Hi, I’m Steve McDonald and welcome to my blog. I live in Byron Shire in New South Wales, Australia.
From 2001 to mid 2009 I worked as a self-employed management consultant specialising in organisational change, initially in Queensland and then based out of Melbourne from ’03-’09. I have a strong interest in human development and am an advocate of Dr Clare W Graves (1914-1986), whose research was used as the basis of the book Spiral Dynamics (Beck, Cowan 1996). I’m also an advocate of Ken Wilber‘s Integral Theory.
Prior to consulting I worked as a rescue helicopter pilot in Central Queensland and before that I was a career Army Officer with the Australian Army for 15 years. While in the Army I spent five years flying helicopters and the remainder as an infantry officer in leadership and operations management roles. I saw war service in Somalia, Africa in 1993 as part of the humanitarian intervention force during Operation Restore Hope.
I’m currently undertaking full time study in various individual and social development metodologies. I take a keen interest in world developments and indicators of social change (both evolutionary and devolutionary) and have created this blog as a way of passing comment on world events at this time of significant and rapid change.
